Community News: Four-Legged Cops to Show Their Stuff

Police dogs from a number of Kansas Area departments will compete Oct. 21 at the family friendly Heartland Police Canine Competition.

According to the Lenexa Police, the public is invited to watch the K9’s navigate a stress obedience course, jump over obstacles and perform bite-work. A free lunch of brats and hotdogs will be provided, and raffle tickets will be sold to support the National Police Canine Association, NPCA.net, which assists in training police dogs.

The competition begins at 10 a.m., Oct. 21 at Kansas City’s South Patrol Division, 9701 Marion Park Drive. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
