Sunflower Kennel Club Westminster Watch Party February 16

In February instead of a standard club meeting SKC members gather at a local sports bar to enjoy the live, televised Westminster Dog Show together. There is a room reserved for our group. Every table and booth has a view of a TV.

Feel free to arrive as early as 6:30 pm. Program starts at 7:00 pm 
Note: The Best in Show winner in 2015 was four year old beagle, Ch Tashtins Looking for Trouble. “Miss P” is co-owned by Eddie Dziuk of Columbia, MO who will be on our judging panel at the Great Plains Cluster May 7, 2016 in Topeka, KS at the Kansas Expocenter.

CLASSES start Monday, January 18, 2016
  • Beginner Obedience: 7:00 pm (Intro night, please do not bring dogs to first class)
  • Conformation Handling: 7:00 pm
  • Rally Obedience: 8:00 pm
  • Advanced & Intermediate Obedience: 8:00 pm
Conformation handling classes. Walk in, no enrollment necessary. $10.00 per class. $8.00 for SKC members.
Prepare yourself and your dog for competition for a Champion title at the upcoming shows. Dog and handler may be any experience level but handlers need to be in control of their dog. We will work with you to fine tune your performance. Instructors will rotate.
Rally class requirements. Basic obedience needed. Dogs should be able to walk on a loose leash at the handlers left side, sit, down and do a short stay.

January 18  –  1st class
January 25  –  Class 2 (not too late to enroll)
February 1  –  Class 3
February 8  –  Class 4
February 15  –  Class 5
February 22  –  Class 6
February 29  –  Last Class and CGC Test.
CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Title Test offered on last night of class sessions. This test is included in the cost of enrollment in obedience classes. Other dogs may attend to take the test for $10.00 per dog.
Puppies must be 3 months old and have shots.
Please bring proof of vaccination for your dog.
Enrollment and check-in on first night of session, January 18.

Your dog needs to be checked in 30 minutes prior to exam for pupil dilation. Please remember that OFA Eye Certification Registry requires a permanent identification on your dog such as a microchip or tattoo. Make checks payable to SKC (Sunflower Kennel Club) for this eye clinic.

PLEASE NOTE: Classes are once again held on Monday nights currently. The second Monday of every month is reserved for Sunflower Kennel Club monthly meetings, therefore there are no classes on the second Monday of most months. We don’t have classes on those evenings but you are welcome to attend our meetings.
